Ikaruga is Cosine's first demo for the Commodore Plus/4 (it also runs on the C16 due to the competition rules) and took about three weeks to write from learning the Plus/4 hardware to a mostly completed version. In all there are six effects, two logos (one of which is in two different configurations) and a picture taking a third of the screen along with an awesome TED soundtrack (featuring a custom written music driver) and everything functions from a mere 11K of memory. Trivia: for those who don't know, the name Ikaruga comes from the excellent vertical scrolling shoot-em-up developed by Treasure for the arcades, Sega's Dreamcast and most recently the Nintendo Gamecube. The demo has no relation to the game, but is named after it as a sort of homage to a fantastic piece of software.
